My new proofing gallery http://carrieevans.smugmug.com has some cool tricks up it's sleeve. Here's a little slideshow of my work. It's a nifty quick way to check out what I've been up to without scrolling and scrolling through this blog.
Enjoy!

Boys... │Ottawa Kansas Photographer
Just thought I'd share a few more fun shots of the boys from Emily and Daniel's shoot the other night. Boys aren't usually into getting their picture taken unless it's all about pretending to eat worms. Right, Joshua?
But I told these guys to just have fun and I'm pretty sure they did.

Sneak Peek for Emily and Daniel │Ottawa Kansas Photographer
I am so glad I crossed paths with Emily! It's taken awhile but the more I get to know her (and now her family), the more I just adore her. She and Daniel moved here from Springfield, Missouri and while I know they miss home, I am jazzed to have them here in Ottawa for however long that will be.
One thing I noticed about them is that they are so committed to their kids and love to play and laugh. Obviously, as you'll see, we had a great time at their shoot.
It was very difficult to just pick a few for this preview!
This was my first family session in an urban/downtown setting. I am sold. Unless there are wee ones involved, I want to sell this idea as much as possible. It was tons of fun and the colors and textures were wonderful to work with!
I have to say that for people who really didn't feel at ease in front of the camera at the start of the shoot, they sure did sell it by the time we were done. I think they were all faking being nervous.
Seriously, Emily...you are one hot mama. Dang.
What can I say...
one of the reasons Emily and I get along is because she thinks I'm hilarious.
It's a tough job, but someone's got to do it. Just kidding. I love people who are full of life and laughter and I am so thankful to get to touch so many lives with my art.
Thanks Emily and Daniel for a fun evening! I'll have your gallery ready soon!

Paine Family Sneak Peek │Ottawa Kansas Photographer
I've known the Paine's for several years and just love them to death. In fact, I've already photographed a couple of them here and here. So when Paula asked me to photograph her extended family while they were in town, I didn't even have to think twice.
Despite my nerves over coordinating 14 people, they made it super easy by looking super good. I was surprised to learn they come from so many different places; Thailand all the way to South Carolina and in between. You know with such a diverse family, you're going to have a good time.
Here is a sneak peek for Paula and her awesome family. (it was really hard to pick for this preview!!)
The rest are coming guys! Thanks for a fun afternoon...I had a great time getting to know you all a bit. It was an honor to photograph your beautiful family.
